The application berruyère to the status of european Capital of culture for 2028 has made a big step these past 48 hours, to Meetings, to Bourges
In the framework of his candidacy for the title of european capital of culture 2028, Bourges welcomes this Thursday and Friday, an ambitious symposium devoted to the means by which the culture to influence our environment, in particular on the ongoing climate change and its challenges. Speakers from seven countries in Europe will boost the debates, which Berruyers are invited to attend.
The capital of Berry continues its ascent to the heights of recognition. Bourges is launching a new cultural challenge: to be European Capital of Culture in 2028.
The new Maison de la Culture in Bourges was inaugurated on September 10, 2021 by the Minister of Culture, Mrs. Roselyne Bachelot.

In the framework of a displacement of the Avignon Festival, Yann Galut, Mayor of Bourges met Cécile Helle, Mayor of Avignon on Friday, 16 July 2021. This last has officially announced its support of the nomination “Bourges European Capital of Culture in 2028”.
This summer, under the “Bourges Contemporain” stamp, Berry has become a constellation of fourteen exhibitions where works, in particular sculptures, meet from the heart of the city to the most remote barns of the region in rurality : (re)discovery of a territory, (re)discovery of artists.
Lydia Lescarmontier, godmother of the application of Bourges 2028 attended an event of the european Commission in the framework of the COP 26 in Glasgow around the question : “How education can support the transition for the company to reach the goal of carbon neutrality and climate ?”
