The network of Bourges 2028 partner cities continues to grow.
This week, three new municipalities officially joined the momentum: La Châtre, La Charité-sur-Loire, and Vierzon.
With these new additions, the network now brings together 25 cities committed alongside Bourges in preparing for the European Capital of Culture year.
Cooperation across the region
These human-scale cities are part of a cultural cooperation that unfolds across the region. The aim is to build lasting connections between local authorities, encourage the circulation of artistic projects, and strengthen ties between cultural professionals and residents.
This network is one of the project’s key pillars: making Bourges 2028 a collective adventure, shared far beyond the city of Bourges.
Projects already underway
This momentum is already taking shape through concrete initiatives across several partner cities.
-
In La Charité-sur-Loire, a monumental artwork will take shape in the heart of the town by 2028, creating a dialogue between contemporary creation and heritage.
-
In La Châtre, the city is already developing two projects: an exhibition dedicated to George Sand and the creation of a permanent public art trail.
All of these initiatives reflect the vitality of the network and a shared ambition to bring forward artistic projects rooted in their local territories.
How far will the Matrix go?
Across Centre-Val de Loire, in France, and throughout Europe, the network continues to expand.
One question remains: how far will the Matrix go?
