Volunteering has its behind-the-scenes moments too!

Published on Wednesday 14 January 2026

At Bourges 2028, volunteering is part of a broader approach to citizen participation.
It is not just about offering occasional support, but about taking part in the project, understanding its challenges, and contributing to what is being built collectively.

Last September, Bourges 2028 volunteers discovered the set construction workshops at the Maison de la Culture de Bourges. This evening, on the eve of the premiere of louise, another space was opened to them: the backstage areas.

These moments are not conceived as side activities, but as full-fledged moments of engagement.
They allow volunteers to move from the perspective of the audience to an active role, close to the spaces, the teams and the creative processes.

Understanding and experiencing these privileged moments already requires commitment. That, too, is what it means to be a volunteer with Bourges 2028.

Thank you to the Maison de la Culture de Bourges for its warm welcome, and thank you to all our volunteers for their active and lasting involvement in the Bourges 2028 project.
