The CR! juries

Orléans, Tours, Nevers—and of course Bourges… the CR! juries were deployed across the Centre–Val de Loire region. For this first edition, more than 70 people came together, bringing cultural professionals, representatives of associations, patrons, members of the Regional Youth Council, randomly selected members of the European Citizens’ Council, and audiences who are usually less engaged.
This plural composition made it possible to reflect both the diversity of profiles and the variety of territories that responded to the CR! call. With a special mention for the residents of the cities of… the Matrice !

Each jury group was composed to ensure fairness in evaluation and a plurality of perspectives: 50% from the B28 management and the artistic teams of the projects, 20% representatives of the European Citizens’ Council, 10% representatives of the Regional Youth Council, 10% representatives of audiences with limited access, and 10% administrative representatives from the local authorities set to host the projects.

Objectivity, transparency, and attentiveness to local realities… For each session, this threefold commitment guided the deliberations of our juries. Diverse personalities, struck by the quality and creativity of the initiatives: “We find ourselves faced with projects we would never have imagined. There is a very strong desire to act and to create, which requires us, as a jury, to examine every idea with the utmost care,” says one citizen juror.

For another member of the juries, representing a patron established in the region: “Taking part in the jury means understanding just how much CR! builds bridges—between practices, generations, and municipalities. You can see connections taking shape that didn’t exist before.”
This diversity of profiles and the plurality of territories thus lay the first stones of a shared culture, true to the artistic spirit that Bourges 2028 seeks to embody.
