Today, more than 220 volunteers are putting their talents, ideas and energy at the service of Bourges 2028. Together, they form a true ecosystem of skills that reflects the diversity of the territory: people of all ages and professions, united by a shared desire to contribute to the European Capital of Culture.
At Bourges 2028, volunteering is not simply about “lending a hand”. Above all, it is about valuing the skills already present across the territory, revealing talents that are sometimes invisible, and enabling everyone to find their place within a project of European scale.
Mission after mission, volunteers thus become the essential driving force behind the momentum and success of the European Capital of Culture.
Maud, a volunteer since February 2024, perfectly sums up what engagement with Bourges 2028 represents:
“Volunteering is a springboard. It highlights our skills and opens up an unexpected network. With Bourges 2028, we discover, we learn, and we see the city differently.”
Her testimony echoes what many feel: beyond action itself, volunteering is a powerful human and cultural experience that transforms one’s relationship with the territory.
Yesterday, during the evening dedicated to volunteers, Bourges 2028 took the opportunity to thank those who commit their time and energy throughout the year. A warm, convivial moment, designed to acknowledge the importance of this engagement in the success of the project.
We want to express our deep gratitude: thank you for the energy, ideas, curiosity and passion you bring.
And thank you to those who will be joining us soon — the door is open, and your place is already waiting.
