This year again, the Avignon festival is the ideal time to affirm the structuring axes of the Bourges 2028 candidacy:
The concerts Trilogy 72, Transformer, Ziggy Stardust and Harvest, creations of Printemps de Bourges Crédit Mutuel, in co-production with the Avignon Festival and with the support of the Maison de la Culture de Bourges Scène nationale, are a great opportunity to recall the strength of the links associating the cities of Avignon and Bourges and their emblematic actors. This partnership was born from a process of cooperation and exchange between cities of less than 100,000 inhabitants with similar profiles on a European scale, launched as part of the Bourges 2028 candidacy, La Matrice, which today brings together 15 cities in France and Europe, including Bourges, Avignon and Angoulême, in order to share their practices and thoughts in all their areas of intervention.
The Festival is also an opportunity to show the richness of the projects that we can carry out within the framework of the European City of Artists and Authors, a key idea of the Bourges 2028 candidacy.
Finally, this time in Avignon is an important moment to present the artists and participants of the Classe Départ, a social transformation project for young people from the outskirts of Avignon who have dropped out of school, a system that we will develop in the Berruyer region and with our French partners. and Europeans within the framework of the European Capital of Culture.
Bourges 2028 is going to the 77th edition of the Avignon festival and it’s quite a program!
