European Project LIFE_LETSGO4CLIMATE In the Centre-Val de Loire Region

Published on Friday 4 March 2022

The european project LIFE_LETsGO4Climate, winner of the call for project LIFE programme, aims to increase of 14 % renewable energy production and reduce the energy consumption of individual and collective of 1.6% on the territories of experimentation. To achieve this goal, the emergence of collective holders of projects for the production of renewable energy or energy efficiency will be facilitated. This innovative project at the european level is fully in line with the axis of the climate change of Bourges 2028.

In 2019, the Centre-Val de Loire Region wanted to initiate a new dynamic of transition in its territory in order to promote collective ownership by local actors of energy issues. To achieve this, it has embarked on a process of local appropriation of the energy transition with two voluntary territories, the Territorial and Rural Balance Pole Gâtinais – Montargis and the Community of Communes Loches Sud Touraine.

In 2020, the Region teamed up with eleven partner structures to set up a project inspired by this experiment: the European project LIFE_LETsGO4Climate, winner of the European call for projects of the LIFE programme. Co-funded by the European Union, this project has a lifespan of four years: from July 2021 to September 2025. This experiment for citizen ownership of the energy transition will take root in six territories. Twelve more will follow, selected through two calls for expressions of interest. Each territory will be accompanied from beginning to end to create a collective dynamic.

On Friday, March 4, 2022, the Region Centre-Val de Loire and the eleven partner structures organize the launch of the project LIFE_LETsGO4CLimate at the regional seat of government, in the presence of François BONNEAU, President of the Region Centre-Val de Loire, and Charles FOURNIER, 2nd Deputy Vice-President for Climate, Ecological and Social Transformations of Public Policies, Energy Transition, Social and Solidarity Economy and Community Life. This moment will allow to present the project, to exchange on its implementation in the regional territory and to bring together all the actors relay of the TE in the territory.
